About The Role
Assistant Advancement Manager (Trusts & Foundations) – responsible for managing a portfolio of trusts and foundations to secure philanthropic income supporting Sussex 2035.
Responsibilities
* Research, coordinate, write and submit proposal applications to trusts and foundations.
* Produce reports and stewardship materials for existing donors.
* Develop clear, compelling project proposals with academics and services staff.
* Build case‑for‑support documents for flagship projects within Sussex 2035.
* Identify and match new funding prospects to these initiatives.
* Occasionally support colleagues on fundraising activities and proposals.
* Contribute to overall fundraising plans and strategy.
Qualifications
* Degree level education or relevant professional experience.
* Self‑directed, positive, entrepreneurial approach to fundraising.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to meet tight deadlines.
* Previous experience in the UK Higher Education sector is desirable.
* Familiarity with Raiser’s Edge CRM.
Eligibility & Employment Conditions
Visa Sponsorship Queries: This role may be eligible for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker route. The assigned SOC code is 2329: ‘Other education professionals not elsewhere classified’ and the going rate is £40,600. Eligibility for sponsorship will depend on the salary offered, use of tradeable points, and existing Skilled Worker sponsorship before 4 April 2024. The University requires that work undertaken for the University is performed in the UK.
