The Microsoft Security Response Center (MSRC) is part of the defender community and on the front line of security response evolution. Our mission is to protect customers and Microsoft from current and emerging threats to security and privacy. Within MSRC, the Vulnerabilities and Mitigations (V&M) team works to reproduce and assess the severity of all security vulnerabilities reported to Microsoft.
We are looking for a Security Researcher to join our AI Vulnerabilities and Mitigations (V&M) team. This role offers a unique opportunity to solve real-world security and privacy challenges, through cutting-edge scientific research, informed by vulnerability data from production AI systems. You will have to opportunity to work on a broad range of security research topics, from investigating new classes of security vulnerabilities in AI systems through to developing mitigation techniques that can be deployed at Microsoft and beyond.

Qualifications
* Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or related field OR 3+ years experience in software development lifecycle, large-scale computing, modeling, cybersecurity, and/or anomaly detection.
* Track record of relevant research, as evidenced by high-quality research outputs (e.g., code and/or publications).
* Appropriate background and familiarity with recent research in security and privacy for AI systems
* Software development skills and experience.
* Creative and collaborative approach to problem-solving.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Master's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or related field OR 4+ years experience in software development lifecycle, large-scale computing, modeling, cyber-security, and/or anomaly detection.
* Experience in other areas of security and privacy in addition to AI (e.g., web security, systems security, etc.).

Responsibilities
* Reproduce and assess the severity of reported security vulnerabilities in Microsoft's AI systems.
* Use data and trends from these reported vulnerabilities to identify opportunities for new research.
* Undertake research in the field of security and privacy for AI, including investigating new vulnerabilities in AI systems and designing scalable mitigations.
* Share research results with security responders and product groups, as well as via publications in recognized academic venues.
* Work with product groups to drive new mitigations into production.
