Join to apply for the Rehab Support Worker role at NHS Ayrshire & Arran
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced RSW to join our Intermediate Care Team as part of the Integrated Community & Support Services (ICASS) in the Glenrothes Locality.
The Intermediate Care Service provides rehabilitation to the adult population within the locality. This will be delivered to service users as in-patients, out-patients, or within their own homes.
The primary function of this role is to work with Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, and District Nursing Services within Intermediate Care to deliver therapeutic treatment programmes to service users in the ward setting or their own homes, preventing hospital admission and supporting early discharge from hospital. Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, and District Nursing will provide specialist assessments and allocate work to you. This post will primarily focus on daily rehab in the community, operating shifts to provide a service 365 days a year from 0800-2200.
You will need an SVQ Level III in Health and Social Care or an equivalent relevant subject. Experience working as a support worker is desirable. Experience working with older people, who are the main group of service users, is also desirable.
Working as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team, you will carry out ongoing treatment programmes for a mixed caseload of mainly older people.
You should have good organisational skills, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently as well as within a team. There may be occasions where you will be required to work at other community hospital sites. You will need to work 34.53 hours flexibly over 7 days.
Our service offers regular supervision, PDP, and training opportunities. The ability to travel throughout the area is essential for this community position.
Interviews will be held in person for this post.
For informal enquiries, please contact Jennifer Meldrum, Team Lead Occupational Therapist, or Jane Baird, Team Lead Physiotherapist, at 01592 740193.
Note: Due to legislative changes from 1 April 2025, this post may require a different level of criminal records check. If the post is a 'regulated role,' your appointment will be subject to joining the PVG Scheme. Further details can be found at the Disclosure Scotland website.
