24.5 hours per week, 08:00-15:00, 3 on 3 off.
The Laundry Assistant plays an essential part in maintaining residents’ dignity, comfort, and wellbeing by ensuring all clothing, bedding, and linens are clean, fresh, and well cared for. The role requires attention to detail, respect for residents’ personal belongings, and an understanding of working sensitively in a dementia‑friendly environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Collect, sort, wash, dry, and iron residents’ clothing and household linens.
2. Follow infection control procedures and handle soiled laundry safely.
3. Keep laundry areas clean, tidy, and compliant with health and safety standards.
4. Ensure items are labelled, cared for, and returned to the correct resident.
5. Report damaged items, equipment issues, or missing labels.
6. Work closely with care and housekeeping teams to meet residents’ needs.
Skills & Qualities:
7. Reliable, organised, and attentive to detail.
8. Respectful and sensitive when handling residents’ belongings.
9. Able to work independently and manage time well.
10. Experience in laundry or housekeeping is helpful but not essential.
