The Senior Research Associate is responsible for performing antibody conjugation to various labels and subsequent purification using established protocols, in alignment with budget constraints and customer demand.
This position reports to the Senior Scientist and is part of the Conjugation Development Platform Team within Research and Development, located in Cambridge, UK and will be an on-site role.
In This Role, You Will Have The Opportunity To
* Perform antibody conjugations using advanced technologies and assess product quality pre- and post-conjugation using analytical techniques such as HPLC, FPLC (AKTA), and spectroscopy.
* Develop novel antibody conjugations workflows.
* Maintain accurate records of experimental data using Batch Manufacturing Records (BMRs), laboratory notebooks, and Oracle ERP, ensuring adherence to SOPs and ISO9001:2015 standards.
* Contribute to process improvements and SOP development for novel technologies, supporting cross-functional teams and ensuring effective communication across R&D and downstream operations.
The Essential Requirements Of The Job Include
* Degree (e.g. Masters) in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry or related discipline from an accredited higher education institute and 1-2 years of industry experience
* Excellent attention to detail, with a passion for working in the lab environment. Demonstrates a flexible mindset and ability to adapt to shifting priorities and customer demands.
* Strong knowledge and practical laboratory experience in at least one of these areas:
o Technical principles, literature, and methodologies in conjugation chemistry.
o Protein purification techniques.
o Quality control methods such as HPLC, ELISA, SDS-PAGE, Western Blot (WB), and imaging applications (flow cytometry, immunocytochemistry).
Desirable But Not Essential
* Experience of working with AKTA purification systems.
