The Role
This is a unique opportunity for an ambitious and capable lawyer to play a key role within a busy Court of Protection team. The successful candidate will work closely with a Panel Deputy and manage a diverse caseload, including matters involving financial abuse and clients with complex financial circumstances. The position involves direct client work, court applications, estate planning, and ongoing deputyship management, offering both challenge and reward in equal measure.
The role also includes opportunities to contribute to the firm's growth through marketing and business development initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
* Manage a caseload of Court of Protection matters, primarily focusing on property and financial affairs.
* Support the firm's Panel Deputy with Deputy General Management responsibilities.
* Handle complex cases involving serious financial abuse or high-value financial oversight.
* Prepare and manage applications for Deputyship Appointments, Statutory Wills, Trusts, and Estate Planning.
* Provide legal advice in line with the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and relevant case law.
* Draft legal documentation and correspondence; attend hearings and prepare court bundles.
* Liaise with clients, families, care professionals, and other stakeholders with sensitivity and professionalism.
* Participate in marketing, networking, and business development activities to maintain and grow the client base.

Candidate Profile
* Qualified Solicitor, Legal Executive (CILEX), or equivalent, ideally with 3+ years PQE in Court of Protection matters.
* Sound understanding of the Deputy Standards and experience managing deputyship files.
* Strong knowledge of Statutory Wills, Trusts, and Estate Planning procedures.
* Exceptional interpersonal skills, particularly when working with vulnerable individuals.
* A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.
* Ability to manage a varied caseload independently while contributing to team growth.
