IT Category Manager (Fixed Term Contract)
Location: Bolton (hybrid, 2-3 days on-site per week)
Contract Duration: 9–12 months
Salary: Up to £85,000 per annum + bonus
About the Role: Are you experienced in IT procurement, supporting initiatives such as software, unified communications, SaaS, digital data, and cloud migration? Hays is partnered with a leading financial services organisation seeking an IT Category Manager to join their Procurement team on a fixed-term contract. In this role, you will manage and implement the UK & Ireland Procurement strategy, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, increasing efficiency, and reducing costs.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather, assess, and challenge business requirements.
2. Coordinate the delivery of processes and initiatives, establishing best-in-class policies, processes, or services.
3. Develop and implement the Category Strategy with the support of global colleagues.
4. Manage Procurement processes, policies, and procedures (RFP, RFI).
5. Negotiate and implement contracts for IT Categories.
6. Understand budget approaches with Finance and business budget owners.
7. Utilise procurement tools and best practices to increase efficiency and quality, contributing to procurement savings and KPI objectives.
What You’ll Bring:
1. Recent experience supporting IT procurement initiatives, including software, unified communications, SaaS, digital data, and cloud migration.
2. Experience supporting a broader range of indirect categories.
3. A team player focused on ensuring the success and respect of the procurement team across different functions.
4. CIPS qualifications would be desirable.
5. An understanding of FCA / PRA regulations.
