Technical Consultant - Microsoft Infrastructure | MSP | Client‑Facing

The Opportunity
We're working with a growing Managed Service Provider looking to hire an experienced Technical Consultant to deliver high-quality infrastructure solutions to a diverse client base. This is a hands‑on, client‑facing role suited to someone who enjoys solving complex technical challenges while building strong customer relationships.
You’ll be responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting Microsoft‑based infrastructure across on‑premises and virtualised environments, acting as a trusted advisor to clients and ensuring best‑practice delivery.
Key Responsibilities
* Design, implement and support Microsoft infrastructure solutions for SME and mid‑market clients
* Work across on‑premises environments, including servers, storage and core infrastructure
* Deliver and support virtualisation platforms (Hyper‑V / VMware)
* Provide networking expertise including switching, routing, firewalls and connectivity
* Lead technical projects, migrations and infrastructure upgrades
* Act as a client‑facing technical consultant, providing clear advice and documentation
* Troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide 3rd line support where required
* Collaborate with internal teams to deliver projects on time and to a high standard
Skills & Experience Required
* Microsoft certifications (e.g. MCSA, MCSE, Azure, or equivalent modern certifications)
* Strong experience with Windows Server and Microsoft infrastructure
* Proven background working within an MSP or multi‑client environment
* Hands‑on experience with virtualisation technologies
* Solid networking knowledge (LAN/WAN, VLANs, firewalls, VPNs)
* Experience with infrastructure projects and technical consultancy
* Excellent communication skills with strong client‑facing experience
* Full UK driving licence (if travel required)
Desirable Skills
* Exposure to cloud technologies (Microsoft 365 / Azure)
* Backup & disaster recovery solutions
* Security best practices and infrastructure hardening
