Occupational Health Nurse Advisor - £38,682 - £54,710 (NHS Band 6/7) depending on experience

Position Overview
As an Occupational Health Nurse Advisor, you will play a pivotal role in promoting and maintaining the health and safety of our workforce. You will collaborate with employees, management, and stakeholders to implement effective occupational health programs, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and fostering a culture of well-being within the organisation.
If you have current experience in health surveillance and screening, within an Occupational Health setting, and are looking to build a career in occupational health, we would be keen to support your development. This role offers the opportunity to develop skills towards becoming a fully qualified Occupational Health Advisor, with structured support, work based experience, skills development and the potential of funding towards an accredited occupational health qualification.
This opportunity provides a hybrid working arrangement, requiring on-site work for a portion of your weekly schedule.
Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive health assessments, including pre-employment screenings and periodic health check-ups.
Be an active member of Occupational Health team undertaking recruitment medicals, role related medicals and assessing fitness to practice
Provide expert guidance on occupational health issues and support employees in managing their health conditions.
Collaborate with HR, safety teams, and management to implement proactive measures for injury prevention and workplace health promotion.
Develop and deliver wellbeing initiatives to enhance employee awareness and engagement.
Maintain accurate and confidential health records in compliance with regulatory requirements.
Hep B vaccination programmes including venepuncture for immunity tests
Risk assessed/role-based health assessments
Undertaking external health clinics within other Police premises
Skills, Experience And Qualifications
Registered General Nurse with degree or diploma (or equivalent) in Occupational Health.
Experience working as an Occupational Health Nurse Advisor required
In-depth knowledge of occupational health regulations, standards, and best practices.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
Proficient in using occupational health software and electronic health records systems.
Clinical skills in venepuncture, immunisations and vaccinations, vision testing, audiometry, and spirometry (preferable)

Blended working role (minimum 60% of the working week on site at Occupational Health in Portishead near Bristol or other Police premises such as Yeovil, Bridgwater, Kenneth Steele House in Bristol, Patchway or Keynsham). Working pattern to be reviewed on a case by case basis with the successful candidate depending on business need.

Familiarisation Events: Thursday 19th March 11am & 5pm.This is a mandatory session for shortlisted candidates to attend a face to face session hosted by Occupational Health representatives and the Talent Acquisition Team, you will be provided with an option on the event time on this specified date. This will be held in person at Occupational Health, Portisfields in Portishead, further information will be shared with you after shortlisting has taken place.

Additional Information
This role may require travel across our force area therefore, a full current UK driving licence or the willingness to travel using alternative transport will be necessary.
