Role Purpose
Develop and close new business opportunities within current and net new target customers in aligned verticals to achieve set annual gross margin targets. Develop and execute a new business territory strategy, driving business across all SCC products and services.
Key Responsibilities
* Prospect and qualify new business target customers or new revenue lines within existing customers. Articulate customer challenges and create joint plans with BU’s to propose suitable solutions, driving a blend of product and services in line with the company’s vision.
* Identify, create, develop and campaign sales opportunities based on customer and market insights, fully qualified to align to the client’s strategy, objectives and challenges.
* Provide campaign leadership: lead and orchestrate virtual internal and external teams on all sales opportunities.
* Maintain, expand and build engagement of vendors and partners within the account base, managing these engagements to drive sales growth and margin.
* Perform account relationship profiling, development and creation of an effective engagement plan in SalesHub. Undertake regular campaign and opportunity planning to maximise sales effectiveness in line with the plan.
* Work effectively with SCC solution experts to define the right proposition for specific client requirements.
* Build and manage a ‘rolling pipeline’ of new business opportunities, demonstrating robust qualification to ensure high deal closure percentages. Maintain an accurate and timely forecast in SalesHub. Create, maintain and grow associated contacts, campaigns and customer data. Build effective marketing plans to address target customers, sectors or regions to drive in‑year margin.
* Effectively manage, grow and maintain customer relationships at all levels and appropriate departments, orchestrating senior SCC Executive engagement into customers.
* Identify opportunity and risk to SCC – operational, commercial and legal – taking into account financial imperatives within SCC for all sales opportunities.
* Develop knowledge of aligned industry verticals, utilising this knowledge to generate specific propositions and messaging to enhance customer traction and opportunity creation.
Skills and Experience
* Demonstrable technology infrastructure and services sales experience, driving enterprise‑size projects into FTSE‑500 and/or Public Sector organisations with framework experience.
* Extensive technology and services knowledge aligned to business outcomes, able to articulate this effectively across all client levels.
* Proven experience in selling IT consulting, professional and managed services, and/or software and hardware in end‑user and enterprise class solutions.
* High level of business and commercial awareness with proven negotiation record at senior levels.
* Proven track record of incremental new business wins while sustaining growth within previous client engagements.
* Demonstrable experience of creating and executing territory sales strategies.
