Key Responsibilities Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils who may struggle to engage Support challenging behaviours using de‑escalation and therapeutic approaches Work 1:1 or in small groups to help pupils regulate emotions and re‑engage with learning Implement behaviour plans and personalised support strategies Encourage routines, emotional regulation and positive communication Work alongside teachers, pastoral leads and external professionals Create an inclusive, safe and consistent classroom environment Promote independence, confidence and positive behaviour What We're Looking For Experience supporting children or young people with SEMH, challenging behaviour or trauma (essential) Background in education, youth work, residential care, mental health or SEN Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable) Calm, confident and empathetic approach Strong behaviour management skills Ability to build rapport quickly and support pupils through difficult moments Resilience and a genuine passion for helping young people succeed Why Work With Monarch Education?
