Education, Early Years & Skills Educational and Child Psychology Service Assistant Educational Psychologist Ref: 000763 Contract: Fixed Term for 1 year Salary: Soulbury Assistant EP Scale 2-4 Hours: 36.66 per week Based: Spindles Closing Date: Sunday 1st June 2025 Interview Date: w/c Monday 12th June 2025 Role Overview: You will support the Educational Psychology Service in delivering its preventative and statutory duties to schools and the council as well as undertaking training, project, research and evaluation work, to support our ability to drive preventative work across Oldham in relation to children with special educational needs and disability. Key Responsibilities: Support colleagues in the completion of a full range of service tasks, including undertaking as required - a range of information gathering, observations and assessments. Support colleagues to develop and deliver courses and materials used by the service, e.g. in relation to Emotional Literacy Support Assistants and Difficulties Attending School. Support colleagues in keeping accurate, up to date records of work relating to work with children, young people and their families in accordance with service protocols. Collect data and produce brief reports to underpin a range of development initiatives, research, training, service evaluation and preventative/ project work. Develop your own skills and practice through continuing professional development, participation in service days and team meetings and accessing supervision. To work alongside other preventative teams, such as the Mental Well Being Team and advisory teachers to support the universal offer to schools. Key Requirements: To succeed in this role you will need as a minimum: At least 2:1 honours degree in Psychology (or recognised equivalent) with Graduate Basis for Registration as required by the British Psychological Society A desire to train as an Educational psychologist in the next four years. Significant post-qualifying experience of working directly with children and parents, for example, experience of teaching, youth work, mentoring or mental health support Excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills; as well as the ability and experience to analyse and interpret data and present it effectively to various audiences.
