CRANSWICK COUNTRY FOODS PRESTON IN HULL ARE LOOKING TO EXPAND ITS DAYS TEAM AND ARE LOOKING TO RECRUIT FOR QA TECHNICIAN FULL TIME. MONDAY TO FRIDAY We are recruiting on behalf of our client Cranswick Country Foods Preston, Hull. Our client is a leading UK food producer, that produce and supply premium food to high profile UK grocer retailers, the food service sector and other UK and global customers. They have an ambitious investment programme focused on market-leading technologies and site infrastructure. This combined with the skill of their teams ensures that they are consistently and efficiently delivering for Their customers. Their state-of-the-art facility is also home to their trading and export team, who sell their expertly butchered pork across the world. With all that in mind our client are looking to expand the team and have immediate opportunities for DAYS QA Technician. Our Client is searching for successful candidates that are reliable, flexible, self-motivated and hardworking, to which could lead to a permanent opportunity. We Can Offer: Pay rate £13.50 PER HOUR (overtime paid after 40 hours worked), Working Hours: MONDAY TO FRIDAY 5:30AM TO 3:30PM Immediate starts following completion of registration and induction Free on-site parking Canteen facilities Friendly and supporting working environment with on site assistance of a Prestige rep. Training and career progression Opportunity of a permanent contractKey Abilities/Training Required: * All core training and mandatory procedures * All relevant site/area policies, procedures & processes (including customer specific requirements) * Minimum level 2 Food Safety * Previous experience of FMCG manufacturing (advantageous) * Understanding of continuous improvement tools and techniques * Awareness of customer standards * Ability to meet job requirementsKey Responsibilities Conducting label / process control audits every 1-2 hours to ensure records are being completed correctly and at the right times as well as raising and issues at the time * Conducting temperature verification checks (including sterilizers, hand washing stations, product, environmental) at various stages of the process ensuring all results are recorded and any corrective actions are completed in a timely manner * Ensure the timely collection of chemical, microbiological and organoleptic samples in line with current schedules * Conducting calibration checks and record the results ensuring any corrective actions are communicated and closed out in a timely manner * Conducting pre-operational hygiene inspections and report any failings immediately and ensure that corrective actions are completed * Conducting GMP audits and fabrication to ensure any corrective actions required are communicated and completed in a timely manner * Conducting daily canteen checks and ensure that any non -conformance are communicated and resolved in a timely manner * Auditing all check-sheets on a daily basis * Conducting CCP verification relevant to the area being worked in and report any Non-Conformances through the proper processes * Ensure closure of any Non-Conformances raised and proactive prevention of repetition * Conducting equipment checks to ensure any damaged or missing equipment is reported to the relevant departments * 'Walking the factory floor' to identify any issues ahead of them arising and taking appropriate action. Dealing with issues as and when required * Managing Corrective actions - making sure corrective actions are completed within appropriate timescales and that the relevant documents have been completed, e.g. hold log, non-conformance log * Quality attribute assessments on finished product to the defined attributes and a specified frequency Completing raw material intake checks to ensure all product adheres to the specification as well as being an approved supplier for meat and Ingredients * Checking the drivers to ensure the certificates are valid and most up to date (if applicable to your area) * Conducting animal welfare checks (if applicable to your area) * Conducting hauler audits * Completing trichinella testing as required * Completion of temperature checks for raw material and finished product as well as environmental temperatures * Conducting taste panels on the determine frequency for all finished products (and key personnel attend) as well as completing quality assessments over life * Completion of glass and hard plastic audits to ensure no production area is at risk of contamination at any point in the process * Carrying out ad hoc projects and trial work when requested * Liaise with colleagues in other departments to ensure the throughput of all products in a timely and efficient manner * Contribute to KPIs in quality, health, safety and environment, yields and customer service * Highlight areas of improvement * Ensure that all statutory (industry guidelines), legal, food safety & customer requirements are met * Ensure adherence to all standards and processes relating to CCP monitoring, glass, complaints, label verifications and other paperwork in your department * Understand relevant legislation, internal company policies and procedures, codes of practice, technical specifications, COSHH regulations and developments in H.A.C.C.P systems relevant to the department * Uphold good housekeeping and hygiene practices to ensure product safety, with particular attention to temperature control and general hygiene * Respect and honour the sentiment of the Cranswick ethical policies and codes of conduct when interacting with colleagues * Attend required training in line with current legislation, Health and Safety guidelines and changing departmental operations * Ensure that you understand and adhere to your personal responsibilities with regard the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, Environmental Protection Act 1990, Site Environmental Permit, company HSE policies, site safety rules, and procedures at all times * To identify hazards in the workplace and actively take part in the behavioral safety programme * Carry out activities with full awareness of their impact on the environment, both in terms of people and the local area * Understand and minimise energy and waste within the departmentWork Area Skills * Has an understanding of systems, processes and procedures * Understands department KPIs * Has a basic understanding of continuous improvement techniques and processes * Delivers quality and accuracy in own work and operates to the correct working standard * Informs Supervisor of problems or opportunities Personal Skills * Works to common goals/SMART objectives * Ensures effective use of own time * Ability to work to deadlines * Able to motivate self f you want the continuation of regular work right throughout the year with excellent pay rates and the potential of a full time job with immediate starts then please contact the resource team on: (phone number removed) or to discuss this role or any other vacancies Prestige Recruitment Specialists can offer you or email us your CV to: (url removed) or register immediately on our website to be booked for an immediate interview
