JAB Recruitment is looking to source a Senior Workshop Technician on behalf of our client, based in Aberdeen. This is a full-time, permanent role.
Overall Purpose of the Role
Responsible for:
* Assembly and testing of new and existing products
* Maintaining high productivity levels to ensure project deliverables are met
* Supporting the design and review of new products
* Carrying out test activities to verify designs, including hands-on testing participation
* Supporting the Engineering team in meeting ongoing business requirements
Principal Accountabilities
* Perform testing and assembly of equipment as required
* Fault finding and determining appropriate solutions
* Attend all assigned training
* Assist in maintenance of all workshop equipment
* Ensure the workshop is maintained in a clean and orderly condition
* Ensure all lifting equipment used is within certification
* Work offsite or at client/supplier locations as required
* Gather correct tools for specific tasks
* Ensure work instructions are followed
* Work independently or as part of a team as required
* Promote a positive team environment within Engineering and across interfacing departments
* Adhere to company policies and procedures
* Carry out any other duties as required
Job Knowledge & Experience
Essential:
* Minimum 5 years’ industry experience
* Prior experience working on:
* Pressure Control Equipment (PCE)
* Surface Wellhead Equipment (SWE)
* Managed Pressure Drilling (MPD) Equipment
* Sound knowledge of mechanical systems
* Basic IT skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.)
* Ability to work effectively independently and within a team
Desirable:
* Experience of temperature testing to API specifications
* Inspection experience

Responsibilities of Managers and Supervisors
Where applicable, responsibility includes ensuring the HSE Management System is implemented within operations under their control.
Duties include:
* Ensuring employees, contractors and visitors are aware of relevant HSE procedures
* Ensuring equipment, plant and substances are suitable and properly maintained
* Providing adequate training, instruction and supervision
* Investigating and rectifying risks promptly
* Escalating significant HSE issues to senior management
* Ensuring incidents are recorded, reported and investigated
* Actively participating in the HSE management system
