Job Details
An exciting opportunity to develop knowledge, skills and experience in an office environment working on the administration of the Local Government Pension Scheme. You will work, after training and under supervision, to provide support to the Council's pension team, including
* Supporting the team in processing new starts, leavers, refunds and cash transfers
* Engaging with customers to obtain information to allow accurate updates of pension records
* Supporting the team in processing of mail and document management
Although you will be expected to complete the tasks, the Transaction Lead Officer will have direct responsibility for allocating and where required, prioritising the day-to-day work. You will be supported by Fife Council's Modern Apprentice team, towards completion of SCQF 5 (SVQ2) Business and Administration. They will also act as a link person between the apprentice, lead officer and qualification training provider.

The Person
Must possess a minimum of 3 National 4's to include English, Maths (and it would be an advantage to also have Admin & IT)
OR
equivalent Core Skills at SCQF Level 4. You should have an ability to interpret procedures.
Ideally you should be capable of using IT applications and an interest in using Microsoft based applications and the ability to develop good communication skills
You will have the aptitude to develop key skills including accuracy, attention to detail, working in a team, customer service and organisational skills.
A Modern Apprenticeship is a work-based training programme that leads to an industry approved qualification. As part of this post, the Apprentice must achieve milestone targets related to completion of SVQ 2 Business and Administration (SCQF Level 5) as agreed on an individual Training Plan. Failure to meet these targets may result in the termination of the apprenticeship post.
Before confirming to your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme.
