1 Year Placement Opportunity
Based in Leeds, Ginetta has been building British road and race cars since 1958. Since its purchase by LNT Group in 2005, the company has grown to become a significant player on the global motorsport scene.
We are seeking a current 2nd Year University student for a Placement Design Engineer role.
This is a paid, full-time role requiring a year out from university studies. The start date is August 2025.
Role Responsibilities:
* Mechanical design and 3D modelling of road and race vehicle components, including suspension, cooling, chassis, bodywork, and drivetrain installation.
* Creation of 2D drawings for manufacturing machined, fabricated, and composite components/assemblies.
* Support for prototype and production builds.
* Design of assembly tooling.
* BOM creation and management.
* Liaising with internal and external suppliers to ensure design intent is realized.
Attributes:
* SolidWorks experience.
* GD&T knowledge.
* Ability to perform hand calculations.
* Knowledge of cost-effective manufacturing methods.
* Experience or knowledge of designing composite components and tooling is beneficial.
* Surface modelling experience is advantageous.
* Sheet metal design knowledge.
* Team player with strong engineering perception and problem-solving skills.
* Well-motivated with good self-management skills.
* Strong attention to detail.
