Justice Worker, Justice Services - Fixed term until 31/3/
Grindlay Court Justice Services, Edinburgh
Salary: £30, – £36, per year
Hours: 36 per week
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join us as a Justice Worker. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to work within a professional, dedicated and supportive team and service.
Justice Workers support people, in prison or the community, who are in contact with Edinburgh Justice Services on a statutory or voluntary basis. The post holder will be contributing to providing interventions designed to reduce reoffending, vulnerability and harm and to support desistance and wellbeing. The post holder will work collaboratively with colleagues within and out with Justice services in line with relevant legislation, public protection and other national and departmental policy and procedures.
The Justice Worker is accountable to the Senior Social Worker and the post holder will be expected to, for example:
1. provide practical support and information and to promote engagement with a range of services
2. liaise with partner agencies e.g., housing, mental health and substance use services
3. provide services on an individual or group work basis
4. participate in formal meetings and reviews, where verbal and written feedback may be required
5. participate in team and other meetings, duty systems and trainings as required
To be considered for this post you should have HNC in Social Care or equivalent, and extensive experience of working in care or justice settings.
Candidates should demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, an understanding of National Outcomes and Standards and public protection, and be willing to work in a dynamic environment.
