Job Summary
The Child Weight Management Project Lead role is to provide leadership and operational support to the Child Weight Management Specialist Service and Single Point of Access. The postholder will be accountable for driving programme delivery, achieving agreed outcomes and contributing to service growth. Where required, the role will also include a delivery element to cover for team absence.

Key Responsibilities
* Lead planning, development, implementation and coordination of the service.
* Collaborate with the SPOA Coordinator to run the Single Point of Access and Specialist Child Weight Management programme.
* Act as a central point of contact for delivery staff, coordinate staffing and session cover.
* Oversee staff performance through 1:1s, PDPs and performance‑driven feedback.
* Track and achieve service KPIs, analysing data and presenting progress reports.
* Coordinate stakeholder activity, patient flow and outcomes, and design service engagement.
* Manage venue booking, risk assessment and use of delivery venues.
* Support financial duties: processing staff expenses and invoices related to the project.
* Insert clinical governance procedures and audit data quality to maintain patient data integrity.
* Deliver safe, personalised, age‑appropriate exercise interventions and behaviour change support to children, young people and families.
* Plan sessions, prepare handouts, materials and equipment; conduct weight‑gain/loss discussions and monitor attendance.
* Engage potential clients at promotional and community events and provide delivery cover where required.
* Support training and mentoring of new staff and volunteers.
Qualifications
* Essential: Degree (or equivalent experience) in a health‑related field such as Nutrition, Fitness, Dietetics, Nursing or Public Health.
* Desirable: Registered with Association for Nutrition (AFN) as a Registered Associate Nutritionist (ANutr).
* Desirable: Master’s Degree in a relevant field.
* Desirable: Advanced Level 4 Specialist qualification.
* Desirable: REPS‑qualified Level 3 award of GP/Exercise Referral or equivalent (willingness to be trained within 4 months of starting).
Experience
* Essential: In‑depth experience delivering weight management and physical activity to specialist populations, including children and young people, in 1‑to‑1 and group settings.
* Essential: Demonstrable experience of administrative, leadership and reporting.
* Essential: Delivery/management experience in weight‑management behaviour change.
* Essential: Experience working with families and/or young people in a community or hospital setting.
* Essential: Knowledge and experience of engaging priority groups in a healthcare setting.
* Essential: Experience working within a multi‑disciplinary team.
* Essential: Demonstrable experience of leading and managing teams in a health, public health or community setting.
* Essential: Experience of staff supervision, appraisal and performance management.
* Essential: Experience engaging key external stakeholders from a wide range of specialisms.
* Desirable: Experience of planning and delivering appropriate health interventions specific to individual requirements.
