Area Team Leader

As the Area Team Leader, you will play a pivotal role in managing service delivery, supporting colleagues, and handling a range of complex and high‑profile building control matters. You will act as a key point of technical expertise, contribute to strategic decision‑making, and ensure compliance, safety, and excellent customer service across your area.

About the Role:
1. Support the Building Control Manager to deliver service objectives and priorities.
2. Manage a varied caseload, focusing on complex or high-profile applications.
3. Oversee day‑to‑day operations and drive performance across the professional team.
4. Mentor, guide, and support colleagues, sharing your technical expertise.
5. Lead on enforcement and investigations.
6. Respond to dangerous structures and safeguard public safety.
7. Build strong, proactive relationships with developers, agents, architects, and communities.
8. Contribute to strategic decisions, shaping policy and service development.

About you:
9. An experienced Building Control professional with at least 5 years’ experience
10. Registered at Class 2F with the Building Safety Regulator
11. A chartered member of a recognised professional body (e.g. CABE, CIOB)
12. Technically strong with excellent knowledge of relevant legislation
13. Proactive, flexible, and skilled in managing and motivating people
14. Committed to delivering high standards and making a positive community impact
