Are you a naturally caring and reliable individual who wants to make a difference in patient care? We are looking for highly motivated Theatre Assistants to join our busy, fast-paced perioperative Theatre team. Within this role, you will work under the guidance and supervision of registered nurses and Operating department Practitioners (ODPs).
The theatre department at the Golden Jubilee University National Hospital has 20 theatres specialising in Cardiac, Thoracic, General, Colorectal and Orthopaedic surgery and we provide a comprehensive induction and competency based training programme.
Responsibilities
* Assist in providing high quality, safe and efficient care to patients during their surgical journey.
* Support the Registered Practitioners in many aspects of direct and indirect clinical care to ensure patients receive the best care possible.
* Commit to an out of hours on call rota for overnight and weekends and work across 6 days per week.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Demonstrate a keen interest in working in this area and a clear understanding of the role.
* Must be willing and able to learn, either already possessing an SVQ in Healthcare or willing to study towards it.
* Be physically fit and possess excellent communication skills.
* On completion of competencies, you will progress to band 3.
