Take on a dynamic Principal Systems Engineering role at the forefront of real-world demands in the defence industry. Your responsibilities will include ensuring operational excellence for existing products, developing next-generation radar systems to counter emerging threats, and contributing to new technology strategies. Your daily work will involve applying Systems Engineering principles across the entire development lifecycle, developing radar systems used by those who serve and protect us.
What you’ll be doing:
* Developing innovative solutions to evolving technical challenges for complex Radar Systems faced by our customers and end-user communities.
* Applying Systems Engineering principles, techniques, and governance to develop technical solutions and resolve engineering issues.
* Conducting system design analysis to manage trade-offs and specify robust product designs.
* Leading the decomposition of requirements to system and sub-system levels, managing these in tools like IBM DOORS Next.
* Serving as a technical focal point with a holistic understanding of system solutions, leading analysis activities, and guiding the team.
* Collaborating with specialists across electronics, electrical, mechanical, and software disciplines to realize system design solutions.
* Overseeing system integration, testing, and validation activities.
* Defining system acceptance strategies and demonstrating system performance in operational scenarios to stakeholders.
* Building your profile with senior stakeholders and expanding your engineering knowledge base.
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
* Understanding of signal processing, target tracking, object classification algorithms, and system/resource optimization.
* Knowledge of factors affecting sensing system performance and their impact on measurement accuracy and timeliness.
* Experience with Systems Engineering standards (e.g., ISO 15288).
* Experience presenting technical and non-technical information formally.
