Job Description:
Our NHS client is looking for a Band 6 Mental Health Practitioner to join their excellent team based in a trust in Thatcham, Newbury. This is a full-time local role that will take place over a period of 3 months starting immediately. The post holder will be responsible for working in an identified adult community mental health team, with the flexibility of working across localities, depending on skill and service need. They will manage an identified caseload, undertake clinical assessments to establish needs, goals, risks, and strengths, and generate collaborative care plans. Responsibilities include delivering recovery-focused interventions, providing consultation and supervision to other health professionals, and working within the community mental health pathway.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Manage a complex caseload, including assessments, care planning, and evaluations.
* Participate in setting quality standards, audits, and reviews.
* Assess patient needs, develop, implement, and evaluate care programs.
* Deliver interventions, including pharmacological and psychological therapies.
* Complete risk assessments and develop risk management plans.
* Promote positive risk-taking to improve quality of life and independence.
* Utilize outcome measures to review intervention effectiveness.
* Contribute to clinical governance and service development.
* Work within NMC Code of Practice and maintain professional competence.
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
* Qualification in supervision provision
* Non-medical prescriber
* Qualifications in psychological interventions (e.g., EMDR, CBT, Family Interventions, DBT)
* Registered assessor/supervisor for students
* Extensive post-registration experience working with adults with mental health difficulties
* Experience engaging with complex cases in community settings
* Decision-making autonomy in community care
* Experience in multidisciplinary team integration
* Experience leading/contributing to CPA/SAP processes
* Experience presenting at local/national levels
* Ability to carry out clinical audits
