Main responsibilities and duties:
* To work within the Disability team and partner organisations to develop existing projects & sessions, liaising with external stakeholders and partners. These may include parents / carers, schools & colleges, Social Care, Voluntary Support Agencies etc.
* Ensure that participants voices are heard and taken into account when designing all interventions.
* To plan and deliver safe and purposeful sessions in a variety of settings to disabled people and where appropriate support schools, teachers, coaches and activity providers to do the same.
* To be able to carry out and provide risk assessments for all sessions and support other deliverers to do the same.
* To have a good knowledge of safeguarding, equality and inclusion and understand and adhere to strict policy guidelines.
* To have confidence in adapting activities so sessions are suitable for a wide range of people for example those with learning disabilities, physical/sensory disabilities, and their families where appropriate.
* Developing CPD opportunities for school / college workforce to ensure more opportunities exist within schools for disabled children and young people.
* To be able to promote opportunities and examples of good practice to raise awareness of the importance of being physically active.
* To have good IT and social media skills.
* To undertake training and development activities relevant to the post.
* To maintain electronic paper records, files, databases for collecting reporting, monitoring and evaluation data under current GDPR guidelines.
* Perform any other duties as reasonably required
