Sullivan Upper is a co-educational, inter-denominational voluntary grammar school founded in 1877, located in Holywood, County Down, on the edge of Belfast Lough. Key Responsibilities
Prepare chemicals, equipment and materials for lessons; set up and clear away practical resources.
Maintain, clean, store and carry out minor repairs on laboratory equipment .
Organise and safely store chemicals and resources, ensuring all statutory checks and safety records are maintained.
Support the department in meeting Health & Safety requirements, including safe handling, correct labelling, and secure storage of materials.
Ensure laboratories and prep areas remain clean, safe and well-organised.
Provide photocopying, printing and IT-based administrative support.
Maintain inventories, update asset registers and assist with ordering and checking deliveries.
Help prepare the department for Open Days, events and examinations .
Support pupil safety, assist with first aid (training provided) and help in emergency procedures.
Essential Criteria
Qualifications
Minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at Grade A*-C, including English, Maths, and one science subject, or an equivalent/higher-level science-related qualification.
Experience / Knowledge
Knowledge of health and safety procedures relevant to a laboratory environment.
Evidence of proficiency in the use of computer and ICT, including Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel).

Proven effective planning and organisational skills.
Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Calmness under pressure.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
