Salary: FTE up to £31,815 (dependent on qualifications and experience); Actual up to £28,317.02 (dependent on qualifications and experience)

Role Overview
We’re looking for dynamic, empathetic individuals to join our Wellbeing Services team as a Safeguarding & Wellbeing Practitioner, supporting the students at either our Filton or WISE Campus. This role is about walking alongside our learners—especially those facing challenges—and helping them feel safe, seen, and supported.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
* Building Trusting Relationships: Offer 1:1 wellbeing support to learners, creating a safe space where they feel heard and understood.
* Championing Learner Success: Work closely with tutors, families, and external partners to help learners stay engaged in college life and reach their goals.
* Safeguarding with Care: Act as a named Safeguarding Officer, a key point of contact for concerns, responding with sensitivity and professionalism.
* Collaborating for Impact: Work within a multi‑disciplinary team to ensure learners receive the right support at the right time.
* Supporting Specific Groups: Provide focused support to students with a Social Worker, Children Looked After, Care Leavers, and Young Adult Carers, helping them navigate college life with confidence.

* Experience supporting young people (14+) with emotional, social, or mental health needs.
* Trauma‑informed approach that values dignity, choice, and empowerment.
* Skills or knowledge in areas such as youth work, health, housing, education, or social care.
* Confidence in maintaining accurate records and working collaboratively within a team.
