East Calder and Ratho Medical Practice has an exciting opening for an Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) or Practice Nurse with special interest in diabetes and are a prescriber working 24 hrs per week, to join our friendly, forward thinking enthusiastic team
Our GP Partners look after East Calder Medical Practice in West Lothian and Ratho Medical Practice in Edinburgh giving the opportunity to work across two different teams and offering flexibility to share resources if needed. We are a practice with good work life balance and quality patient care at our core. We have a stable team of 10 partners, 3 salaried GPs, 2 GP Retainers, 5 ANPs and 3 PNs. Our list size is over 16,300 in East Calder and over 3,400 patients in Ratho Medical Practice. We are continuously expanding due to extensive development in the area.

Our onsite, multi-disciplinary team includes Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Practice Nurses, Treatment Room Nurses, Mental Health Nurses, Healthcare Support Worker, Phlebotomists, Pharmacy team and community APP`s. We enjoy excellent links with secondary care colleagues in both Livingston and Edinburgh. We also enjoy onsite support from our extended NHS multidisciplinary team: Health Visitors, Midwifery, Community Nursing, Speech and Language Therapy

We are seeking ANPs or PNs that are looking for a long term stable opportunity.
The right candidate has to be a fully trained ANP or Practice Nurse (PN) with special interest in diabetic patients and are a prescriber. As a clinician you will need to have high levels of decision making and clinical judgment to manage Type 2 diabetes in primary care.
- For an ANP, part of the job will be on the day patient assessment of adults and children with acute problems. Specific hours will be allocated to diabetes
- For a prescribing PN, the job will be a mix of practice nurse work but with a major focus on diabetes and holistic management including prescribing.
You have to be flexible and motivated with passion on providing exceptional service to our patients.
We operate EMIS and Docman systems. However, will be migrating to Vision in May. We are an accredited practice for both GP and Medical Student training across both sites.
Starting date and salary are negotiable for the right candidate.
Salary: Advanced Nurse Practitioner (Band 8A) or PN (depending experience salary negotiable)
24 hours per week, PERMANENT
