Job Description:
New: Medical Writer (Remote UK/Hybrid possible) - Innovative growing healthcare consulting firm
An exciting opportunity to join a growing consulting firm with one of the best staff retention rates in the healthcare/pharma space. Be part of a fun, people-focused culture where everyone looks out for each other, pulling in the same direction, finding a great balance between work and personal life.
The role suits a medical writer who enjoys hands-on writing, working in a collaborative, close-knit team. You will have an established leadership team supporting your growth and development, with no pressure to be involved in sales/business development. The role offers good visibility in a mid-sized company and the chance to work on global projects.
Much of the company's work involves repeat business and organic growth, with HEOR publications/manuscripts being a key deliverable that the new hire will contribute to.
Role scope:
1. Draft, revise, and finalize scientific materials, including abstracts for scientific conferences, scientific posters, slide decks for podium presentations, and data visualizations.
2. Articulate complex information clearly and concisely.
3. Evaluate and interpret source documents, developing appropriate tables and figures.
4. Provide copy editing, proofreading, and quality control reviews.
5. Collaborate with internal researchers and client teams to ensure scientific accuracy.
6. Participate remotely in client-facing project meetings as needed.
7. Incorporate reviewer comments to improve documents.
8. Address conflicting comments from authors and reviewers.
9. Perform online literature searches and summarize findings.
10. Coordinate journal/abstract submissions following guidelines and templates.
11. Contribute to internal thought leadership projects.
Qualifications:
1. MSc or higher degree in a life science, public health, or health economics-related field.
2. 2+ years of experience in technical writing, as a professional or student.
3. Strong attention to detail, clarity, and scientific accuracy.
4. Effective interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
5. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
6. Experience writing for the pharmaceutical industry, public health, RWE, epidemiology, or HEOR is strongly preferred.
