The Role: As Finance Director, you will be a key member of the senior leadership team, providing strategic financial insight and leadership across the business. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial management, including reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cashflow management, while supporting commercial decision-making and operational strategy. Key Responsibilities: Lead and develop the finance function, ensuring robust financial controls, processes, and reporting systems are in place. Provide financial insight and analysis to support business planning, investment decisions, and growth initiatives. Oversee the preparation of monthly management accounts, financial statements, and board reporting. Project manage the migration from the current ERP system to SAP Business One. Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes. Drive working capital and cashflow management to support operational requirements. Act as a key business partner to the owners and operational heads, supporting commercial strategy and operational performance. Lead relationships with external stakeholders including auditors, banks, and advisors. Identify opportunities for process improvement, cost control, and margin enhancement. Successful candidate: We’re seeking a hands-on, commercially focused finance professional who thrives in a fast-paced, owner-managed business environment. You will have: A recognised accounting qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA). Proven experience in a senior finance leadership role, ideally within an SME or privately owned business. Sector experience in food, wholesale, distribution, or FMCG is essential Strong financial management, forecasting, and cashflow control skills.
