Contract Type: Visiting Lecturer Worker Contract
We are currently looking to expand our bank of Visiting Lecturers to join our academic team at our Hull campus, based at The University of Hull, law school.
We are interested in hearing from qualified Solicitors and/or Barristers.
As a Visiting Lecturer, you will work for the University of Law at our Hull Campus on an hourly rate basis under a worker contract. Reporting to our Academic Manager, you will provide tuition across the University of Law SQE (Solicitor Qualifying Exam) and conversion (PGDL/MAL) course portfolio.
This position suits individuals who wish to engage in academia alongside other professional or personal commitments, offering flexible scheduling and limited contact hours.
You will enjoy being challenged (by students and course content alike) and be able to adapt to different learning styles and methods of course delivery. The role includes marking in-course assignments and final assessments, supporting students, and handling queries.
Responsibilities:
* Teach and assess across The University of Law SQE and conversion courses, including written and presentation skills, with individual feedback on performance.
Candidate requirements:
* Qualified Solicitor and/or Barrister with practice experience.
* Organized, capable of prioritizing workload.
* Confident and articulate presentation skills.
* Punctual with good time management.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team, seeking advice when necessary.
