Summary
* The Children’s Strategic Transformation and Commissioning Manager is a pivotal leadership position responsible for shaping, developing, and delivering high-impact programs and commissioning activities that enhance outcomes for children, young people, and families. This role is crucial in driving strategic priorities and addressing local needs through effective program management and commissioning strategies.
Responsibilities
* Lead major transformation programs aligned with strategic priorities and local needs.
* Develop and implement commissioning strategies.
* Monitor and evaluate program performance against outcomes, timelines, and budgets.
* Conduct needs assessments and gap analyses to inform commissioning decisions.
* Manage the entire commissioning cycle: service specifications, procurement, contract management, and monitoring.
* Produce performance reports for commissioned services.
Essential Experience Required
* Proven experience across commissioning activities including service design, procurement, contract management, and performance monitoring.
* Experience working in complex multi-agency environments and leading system-wide change.
* Demonstrated experience of involving children, young people, and families in service design and evaluation.
Essential Qualifications Required
* Degree-level education or equivalent OR extensive experience in strategic commissioning across social care and/or health.
* Evidence of ongoing professional development.
* Project management qualification (PRINCE2, Agile, MSP).
* Commissioning or procurement-related certification.
Additional Information
* Working hours: 37 hours per week.
* DBS required.
