: At Leonardo, we have an opportunity for an experienced Site HSE (Health, Safety, Environment & Energy) Manager to join our Edinburgh based team. Reporting to the Head of HSE, the main responsibility of the HSE Manager is to oversee the correct application of the relevant company Health, Safety & Environmental management systems and practices, the effective implementation and maintenance of environmentally safe and legally compliant places of work in respect of all LEUK activities for the home site and any associated sites. This role is site based 5 days per week, in Edinburgh, with occasional visits to Newcastle and other LEUK sites. What you'll do as a HSE Manager: You are responsible for ensuring that activities under your control are undertaken in accordance with the requirements set out in the Leonardo UK HSE Policy, Quality Policy and supporting arrangements. Ensure the provision of an appropriate level of advice to site Edinburgh managers and wider team in relation to the execution of their duties within the HSE BMS- Business Management System Support the LEUK HSE team in the maintenance of Health, Safety, Environmental and Energy Certifications, with the development of policy, procedures and practices and in the conduct of all internal/external audits; inspections and visits Liaise with and support the general activities of the Edinburgh site leadership team for HSE Identify, analyse and prepare the site risk register and mitigation actions Ensure HSE investigations are carried out appropriately to the required standard and include root cause analysis Ensure suitable and sufficient advice and guidance are communicated to operational management Has responsibility to apply suitable and sufficient HSE arrangements locally Ensures proactive management principles and tools are applied locally Monitors HSE performance and ensures internal assurance processes are in place locally Ensures area of responsibility is in compliance with regulatory and corporate requirements Has the ability to effectively manage any enforcement visits in conjunction with the LEUK HSE Head of HSE Development, implementation and monitoring of objectives and targets locally to continually improve through the Leonardo LEUK HSE BMS What you really must have: Chartered membership of IOSH or working towards (or Chartership of an equivalent organisation), NEBOSH Diploma in Health and Safety or equivalent HSE qualification (or working towards) Detailed knowledge of UK statutory regulations in respect of health, safety & environment with a demonstrable technical knowledge Knowledge of providing technical support of manufacturing methods; factory services, maintenance & facilities requirements and construction projects Demonstrate appropriate HSE behaviours, whilst maintaining a culture of openness and transparency to improve HSE performance Project Management skills It would be nice if you had: Member of IEMA (either working towards or is a Chartered Member) or of an equivalent institution is desirable Auditing Experience of ISO 50001 desirable Knowledge of manufacturing and engineering environments Experience in ISO 14001 & ISO 45001 implementation and maintenance, including a qualification as an internal auditor Security Clearance You must be eligible for full security clearance.
