Team Leader Rough Sleepers

A fantastic, new opportunity has arisen to become a homelessness Team Leader, leading a team that supports service users with multiple and complex needs to reduce rough sleeping. We are hoping this role will be for you.

We are seeking an experienced and proactive professional to support in leading the Rough Sleepers Team, delivering high-quality support to individuals experiencing rough sleeping or at risk of homelessness. The role involves managing daily operations, ensuring efficient use of resources, and providing strong leadership and supervision to meet performance and contractual targets. The successful candidate will foster effective partnerships with local agencies, promote collaborative working to reduce rough sleeping, and ensure services are responsive, inclusive and needs-led. Responsibilities also include budget oversight, performance monitoring, health and safety compliance, and active engagement with service users to shape ongoing development. Where: Leeds

Hours: Full time, 37.5h per week

Full Time Salary: £35,220.59 – £37,184.91 Dependent on experience, Pro Rata

About the role:

1. Operational line management of a team of staff which includes supervision (with reflective practice), appraisal, performance and sickness management as well as ensuring staff follow CGL and external policies applicable to their roles
2. Work flexibly within an agreed number of hours of work to maintain the most appropriate level of service provision. This will include shift work
3. Empowering staff to promote hope, empowerment, choices, control, and opportunities that assist service users reaching their full potential as individuals and community members
4. Work with your team and Designated Safeguarding Lead (if not your role) to ensure that the practices within the team/service enable identification of service users, children and families who are at risk. Ensure that staff are competent in the delivery of interventions that reduce risk to service users
5. Support staff to improve service user outcomes through observed practice, providing timely values-based feedback
6. Lead on the recruitment, selection and induction of staff

About you:

7. Educated to degree level or equivalent relevant experience
8. Knowledge and experience of developing and leading health and social care services and delivering services which evidence high performance and quality standards
9. Significant experience of leading teams who work with families where children are subject to social care intervention
10. Knowledge of current legislation surrounding children, young people, and safeguarding practice
11. Able to lead, inspire and develop a team
12. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and able to use common MS Office applications (Word/Excel/Outlook)
