Overview
You will get hands-on experience across various aspects of accountancy while studying for your qualifications. This role provides an excellent foundation for a successful career. What's more, you will gain exposure to a wide range of different clients and industries to gain a deeper understanding of day-to-day principles.
At the start, you will be assisting with the preparation of accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies whilst carrying out some bookkeeping duties and VAT returns for clients too before diversifying your experience into something more technical. You'll also gain exposure to some of the most commonly used accounting packages like Sage, Xero and QuickBooks.
Requirements
A successful candidate would demonstrate strong motivation and passion for accountancy, supported by solid numerical and analytical skills. They would show excellent attention to detail and accuracy, along with clear communication and interpersonal strengths. Being comfortable with exams is important, and while not essential, some prior work or office experience would be beneficial.
