What You’ll Do
* Restock ward medicine cabinets using the Omnicell system
* Support the supply of medicines across the hospital
* Help maintain pharmacy equipment and stock accuracy
* Work as part of a friendly, supportive multidisciplinary team
Training & Development
Full training is provided, including a GPhC‑accredited Level 2 Medicines Stock Assistant qualification (or equivalent). There are excellent opportunities to develop and progress into senior pharmacy assistant roles within the department.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for supplying stocked medicines to Omnicell cabinets, completing manual top‑ups for items stored outside of Omnicell, and participating in the Omnicell cycle count rota. They will support the effective inventory management of pharmacy stock and assist with the safe receipt, storage, and supply of pharmaceutical items in line with departmental procedures and Good Distribution Practice.

Job responsibilities
Stores and Distribution
* Work within standard operating procedures for the medicines distribution service
* Receive medicines into stock from wholesalers and manufacturers, separating CDs, unlicensed and bonded medicines, IV fluids and cold chain products
* Participate in the topping up service, ordering and maintaining stock for clinical areas against agreed stock lists, including supplying bulky IV fluids
* Supply medicines to the pharmacy Omnicell cabinets in clinical areas, ensuring adherence to local procedures
* Report on and follow up on overstocking, understocking and review of stock levels
* Issue stock on the pharmacy computer system against a written or electronic order
* Pick and supply requisitioned items to clinical areas
* Ensure pharmaceuticals products returned to the pharmacy store are checked for suitability for re‑issue and that returns are made using the EPIC computer system
* File delivery notes and requisition paperwork according to Good Distribution Practice
* Complete daily stock checks on the pharmacy inventory
* Remove expired and damaged stock
* Clean and tidy shelves and equipment in the pharmacy stores areas
* Perform robot maintenance and ensure all medicines are processed correctly into and out of the pharmacy robot
* Remove waste medicines to the pharmacy disposal area and dispose of safely
* Act as a point of contact for telephone enquiries, providing courteous assistance and directing queries to the appropriate person or team
* Any other duties required which are judged to be within the competency of the pharmacy assistant grade, with appropriate training where required
Training
* Undertake the Medicines Stock Assistant Level 2 course, or relevant
* Undertake and record CPD

* GCSE Maths and English grade A-C (4-9)
Skills
* Demonstrates ability to work in a team
* Clear and well spoken/written English
* Problem solving skills to resolve queries
