Job Title: Senior Project Manager
Contract Type: 12 Month Fixed Term Contract
Working Pattern: Hybrid – Two days per week on site
Job Purpose
The Senior Project Manager will provide senior-level leadership and delivery across complex transformation and service development programmes. The post holder will lead and facilitate change, support collaborative working across operational and corporate services and ensure high-quality programme and project delivery aligned to organisational priorities.
The role is appointed on a 12-month Fixed Term Contract and operates under a hybrid working arrangement, with a requirement to attend the workplace for a minimum of two days per week and additional on-site attendance as required to meet service needs.
Responsibilities
* Promote and facilitate collaborative working across services to improve performance, service delivery and organisational effectiveness, including managing and addressing resistance to change.
* Lead, present at and facilitate workshops, engagement events and meetings with large groups of staff and diverse stakeholder audiences.
* Plan, design and implement new ways of working, including facilitating collaborative approaches and capacity planning activity.
* Provide senior leadership within project delivery teams, ensuring continuity, quality and effective governance, and acting as an initial point of escalation where appropriate.
* Work collaboratively with operational service staff to ensure meaningful involvement in the development, redesign and implementation of services.
* Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to support organisational objectives and enhance business performance where appropriate.
* Provide clear, timely and professional communication regarding service direction, performance and change initiatives, including the delivery of difficult or unwelcome messages with sensitivity and authority.
* Monitor all aspects of programme and project delivery and business development activity, ensuring that appropriate risk assessments are undertaken, reviewed and acted upon.
* Ensure workforce development considerations are fully integrated into service and project development activity, including training needs analysis, workforce planning and recruitment requirements.
* Align project activity with wider organisational change initiatives, monitor delivery against agreed targets and performance indicators, and implement corrective action where necessary.
* Lead and maintain robust project governance arrangements, including detailed planning, monitoring expenditure and budgets, authorised sign-off where delegated, maintenance of accurate project documentation and systems, and delivery of post-project evaluations and benefits realisation reviews.
Qualifications
* 5+ years NHS experience
* 5+ years of experience in project management or relevant fields
* Demonstrated ability to deliver a completed project
* Strong communication skills
* Experience working with a team
