Job Overview
Florence House has an exciting opportunity for a Band 5 Mental Health Nurse to join our team on a 12-month secondment/fixed-term basis.
Florence House is a 5-bedded Mother and Baby Unit providing high-quality care and treatment for pregnant and postnatal women experiencing mental health difficulties. Babies are admitted with their mothers to build and maintain the mother/infant relationship.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will have an interest in Perinatal Mental Health, be enthusiastic, caring, and a good team player. Experience working with women with mental health difficulties and children is preferred but not essential.

We promote a calm and therapeutic environment where patients and families are supported by a friendly, skilled, and enthusiastic team to aid recovery. We welcome applications from newly qualified nurses with an NMC PIN, offering a comprehensive Preceptorship Programme.
Eligibility and Conditions
Applications requiring current Skilled Worker sponsorship are ineligible. This is a fixed-term role, and NHS service staff should seek permission for secondment before applying. Successful candidates will join a multidisciplinary team providing therapeutic and diverse interventions, with regular teaching and supervision.
Requirements
* Experience in an acute setting is preferable.
* Good knowledge of child and adult safeguarding.
* Excellent clinical skills and risk assessment capabilities.
* Willingness to work outside comfort zones in demanding environments.
* Successful completion of a Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression course is mandatory.
