Work Pattern:
Full time: Monday to Friday 7am - 5pm and alternate Saturday mornings 7.30am -12.30pm
Job Purpose
Based in our loading bay, you will ensure the Company's delivery vehicles are loaded in a timely, efficient and accurate manner. Unloading, loading, checking and storing goods delivered. Provide assistance in the yard and warehouse areas where required.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
· Pick and prepare for loading goods for despatch out to customers, load goods onto our own and customer's vehicles accurately and in a timely manner, either manually or using the forklift truck / loading shovels (when fully trained and certified)
· Unloading, unpacking, checking and storing goods received in, either manually or using the forklift truck (when fully trained and certified)
· Restocking shelves / racking
· Undertake training where required to ensure that product knowledge is up to date with regards to the products stocked
· Work proactively to ensure the loading bay and yard areas are maintained to a high standard and free of health and safety risks
· Greet customers and establish their purchase needs
· Provide advice on alternative and/or more suitable products
· Produce a sales tally ticket whilst loading the customer
· If a customer has pre-loaded goods check the vehicle to ensure the goods reflect the information provided
· Report any accidents as soon as possible and in in compliance with the company's accident reporting procedure
· Adhere to all company policies and procedures
· General warehouse and yard duties as required
· Any other duties commensurate with this role
Person Specification
· Physically able to cope with reasonable manual handling, working in all kinds of weather & being on feet / walking for the majority of the day
· Counterbalance Fork Lift Truck certified
· Knowledge of building materials, ideally having worked previously in a builder's merchant
· Excellent communicator who possesses effective organisational skills
· Aware of and committed to working to high levels of Health and Safety regulations
· Reliable and able to work within a team environment as well as under own initiative
· Adaptable and able to cope with fluent, changing work requirements
