Assistant Financial Controller

Company Overview
Position overview:
Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, our future Assistant Financial Controller will have as a main mission to support the plant’s financial operations by ensuring accurate reporting, strong internal controls, and reliable budgeting and forecasting, while overseeing key financial processes.
Main Missions:
1. Work as an integral part of the Plant Finance and Management team providing support and control to the Redditch plant.
2. Assist the Financial Controller in all aspects of corporate and internal reporting to ensure adherence to timetables, financial integrity and completeness.
3. Assist in budget and short-term forecast preparation, profit and loss, cashflow and balance sheet.
4. Management of 3 direct reports.
5. Management of key KPIs including Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable aging.
6. Full responsibility for Free Cash Flow forecasting, monitoring and reporting.
7. Pursuing Continuous Improvements to financial controls and other operational processes within the business.
8. Judgmental Reserves Schedules and Accrued Liabilities reporting.
9. SOX Testing Reviews and presentation to the Financial Controller.
10. Preliminary Balance Sheet Reconciliation Reviews.
11. Warranty exposure calculation and provision.
12. Product Profitability Analysis and Reviews.
13. Management and completion of month-end processes including variance analysis.
14. Reporting plant performance (actual, budgets, forecasts, variance walks) through Hyperion.
15. Working closely with external auditors for year end and interim audit work.
16. Headcount review and sign off
17. To review, maintain and implement internal controls including quarterly SOX testing.
18. Development of direct report heads to achieve personal and professional goals, also supporting the longer-term succession plan.
19. Supporting the Financial Controller in management of two stock-takes annually.
20. To complete ad hoc tasks as and when required.
21. To support other team members as and when required.

22. Qualified Accountant
23. Excellent I.T skills especially Excel
24. Strong communication skills.
25. High attention to detail.
Advantageous Qualifications / Work Experience:
26. Finance / Business Degree
27. BPCS experience
28. Good working knowledge of IBM iSeries (AS400) and AS400Query
29. Automotive experience
30. Continuous Improvement pedigree
