Role Overview
PDS are seeking an experienced and commercially astute Estimator to join their pre-construction team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a solid background in hospitality fit-out estimating who is passionate about producing competitive and accurate cost plans and tenders for projects across the UK. You will play a key role in winning work and setting projects up for success from day one.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for projects within the pubs, clubs, and restaurant sectors.
* Analyse architectural drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive quotations.
* Liaise with internal teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to gather accurate pricing information.
* Produce bills of quantities, schedules of rates, and tender submissions.
* Identify and assess project risks, providing input into risk mitigation strategies.
* Work closely with the Business Development and Project Management teams to ensure tenders align with company capabilities and client expectations.
* Maintain and update a library of pricing data and supplier information.
* Attend site visits, tender interviews, and pre-start meetings where required.
Requirements
* Minimum 3 years' experience in an Estimating role within the hospitality fit-out sector, ideally pubs, clubs, or restaurant environments.
* Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and cost planning.
* Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Excel.
* Excellent attention to detail and commercial acumen.
* Strong communication and negotiation skills.
* Ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines simultaneously.
* A relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or similar is desirable but not essential.
