Job Type: Full-time (45 hours per week) - will include weekends

Salary: Negotiable up to £40,000
Our client is a small family-owned catering business operating both a Café and a Café Bistro alongside a small fleet of coffee vans and food trucks. They have expanded into corporate catering and events, and run contracts including at Luton Town Football Club. Based in Houghton Regis, they were crowned the “Best Local Business” in this year’s Pride of Houghton Awards. They are professional, agile and innovative.
Due to ongoing success and growth, they are looking to recruit a suitably experienced, driven and committed General Manager to assist in both the operations and development of the business, with a particular focus on Café/Bistro operations where there is double-digit growth in sales.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee daily operations of the cafés – it’s all about consistent delivery, including food preparation, customer service, and leadership.
* Customer experience is central to what we do. Deliver the “WOW” factor and the consistency required to build loyalty and reputation.
* Lead, develop and inspire the team to deliver the best customer experience in town.
* Ensure consistent delivery of all aspects of the food and drink menu in terms of speed, quality and safety.
* Constantly monitor, improve and deliver a solid operations platform.
* Create, develop and deliver menus and events with the team that inspire and delight customers.
* Deliver the required financial targets.
The Candidate
* Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a hospitality setting.
* Customer-led and understands that customer experience is the heart of the business.
* Commitment to developing the team; values people as central to the business.
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a team to deliver consistently.
* Drive, initiative, innovation, commitment and resilience as core attributes.
* Experience delivering operational processes from rotas to stock to Health and Safety.
* Ability to multitask, work at pace, and solve problems while meeting deadlines.
* Effective communication at all levels.
* Business development experience that is innovative and delivers tangible results.

The restaurant will be open 7 days a week and may include evening events. Weekend and evening availability is required.
