The role
Reporting to the Depot Manager We have a vacancy for a Workshop Manager based at our Ludlow Depot (SY8 3QF). Basic hours 8:00am until 5:00pm, Monday to Friday (42.5 hours per week).
To effectively lead and manage the Workshop activities so that they achieve the required ‘Standards of Quality of Service’ whilst ensuring full compliance with the appropriate Company’s Policies, Procedures and Legal requirements in particular those relating to the Environment, Health and Safety, Quality Management, HR and Transportation.
Key Duties:
* Lead and motivate workshop staff ensuring they are aware of their individual objectives, are competent to achieve them and their performances are monitored, realistically assessed and improved where appropriate.
* Maintain plant and vehicles to comply with documented service requirements, ensuring road worthiness and regulatory compliance at all times.
* Demonstrate awareness of and effectively implement the Company’s QESH Policies and Procedures. Compliance to be confirmed by regular inspection and audit of the workplace and working practices

Candidate Profile:
The successful candidate must have experience in maintenance and repair of plant and equipment within our fleet and also have experience in the management of a workshop engaging in the maintenance and repair of heavy plant machinery ( e.g excavators, rollers, dumpers, pavers, welfare units etc).
Essential Skills and Qualities:
* People management and leadership skills
* Suitable Plant Maintenance or Engineering qualifications (Ideally NVQ3 in Plant Maintenance or equivalent)
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Excellent problem solving and decision making
* Experience in using Microsoft Office
Candidates must possess a valid driving licence.
