Job overview

The post holder is responsible for providing support to ensure Clinical Trial related activities within the pharmacy department are managed in accordance with relevant legislation and of high-quality.

The ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, members of the Trust research teams and members of the trial Sponsors teams e.g. Clinical Research Assistants (CRAs)

Main duties of the job

This post includes administrative duties, providing support to the pharmacy clinical trials team with an increasing portfolio of work with the view to develop more pharmacy related skills, including dispensing of trial and non-trial medications.

Special circumstances

Education and Experience

* Sound educational background
* Knowledge of Microsoft software in an office environment (e.g. Excel, Word)
* Hospital or Pharmacy Experience
* Knowledge of Good Clinical Practice


Skills and Abilities

* Ability to work to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
* To be literate and numerate
* To be able to communicate in a clear and concise manner
* Have basic keyboard/computer skills
* Keep accurate and legible records
* Able to work unsupervised as well as take instruction
* Ability to work in an organised fashion
* Recognise limits of of competencies and know when to refer to colleagues for advice
