About the Role
The Director of Sales (Maternity Cover) is responsible for driving commercial success by leading proactive sales strategies, building key client relationships, and maximising revenue opportunities across all market segments.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve and exceed revenue targets across rooms, meetings, and corporate accounts.
* Lead on the creation and delivery of the Hotel Sales Plan, reviewing performance monthly and adjusting activity to maximise results.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with key corporate clients, travel agents, and event organisers, acting as the primary contact for high‑value accounts.
* Personally conduct a minimum of 10 sales appointments per week, focusing on high‑yield opportunities.
* Host client hospitality events and FAM trips to showcase the hotel and strengthen partnerships.
* Identify new business opportunities through proactive research, networking, and lead generation.
* Collaborate closely with the General Manager on the annual Business Plan and Budget, presenting to the owners when required.
* Attend weekly strategy meetings, contributing to commercial decisions that maximise hotel yield.
* Work with Marketing to align sales activity with campaigns, promotions, and seasonal offers.
* Conduct competitor analysis to inform pricing, positioning, and commercial strategy.
* Prepare detailed sales reports and analyse key metrics to support strategic decision‑making.
* Represent the hotel at industry events, trade shows, and local business gatherings to strengthen brand presence and generate leads.
* Lead recruitment, training, and development of sales team members, ensuring exceptional customer service and strong sales capability across the hotel.
* Ensure all sales activity is accurately recorded and aligned with RBH standards.
What We Need From You
* Minimum of 3 years’ experience in hospitality or events sales, with a proven track record of achieving revenue targets.
* Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and develop others.
* Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with a confident, persuasive approach.
* Strong commercial acumen with experience in forecasting, strategic planning, and performance analysis.
* Proficiency in CRM systems (Delphi, Salesforce, or similar) and Microsoft Office.
* Excellent negotiation and contract management skills with strong attention to detail.
* Highly organised, able to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
* Flexibility to attend events, meetings, and networking opportunities outside standard hours.
* A proactive, positive mindset with the ability to identify and act on new opportunities.
