Job Description
Summary: Provides clinical and technical support for school-based health center (SBHC) medical providers, supports behavioral health and dental providers, manages supplies, performs clinical testing per OSHA and CLIA standards, enrolls patients, and bills for services.
Responsibilities:
* Greet patients, parents, and staff.
* Identify uninsured/underinsured patients and refer them for insurance coverage.
* Escort patients, record complaints, and prepare them for providers.
* Perform CLIA waived tests, set up operatory, and assist providers.
* Monitor and restock supplies, maintain logs, and ensure timely billing.
* Support communication within the clinical team, maintain universal precautions, participate in quality activities, serve as Safety Officer, and lead or participate in special projects.
* Meet regularly with management to discuss operational issues and create agendas for meetings.
Qualifications:
Required Skills and Education:
* High school diploma or equivalent.
* Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant course.
* Board Certification/Registration.
* Knowledge of EKG, phlebotomy, scheduling, medical testing, and computer skills.
* Excellent organizational and communication skills, team focus, leadership qualities.
* Current CPR and AED certification (American Red Cross or American Heart Association BLS/AED for Healthcare Providers).
Preferred Skills:
* Experience with electronic health records.
* Two or more years as a Medical Assistant.
Physical and Work Environment:
* Manual dexterity, ability to stand, walk, lift.
* Potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens.
Additional Qualifications:
* Effective communication of clinical information, collaboration with staff.

Maintain confidentiality of patient records and agency information per policies.
