Our prestigious client in the centre of Edinburgh is seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead their kitchen team in delivering exceptional culinary experiences. This role starts as temporary but could become permanent for the right candidate.
The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of food production, ensuring all dishes meet high standards of quality and presentation. Responsibilities include managing kitchen operations, supervising staff, and maintaining a safe, efficient working environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Oversee all kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food quality and safety.
2. Manage food preparation, cooking, and presentation processes.
3. Supervise and train kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative environment.
4. Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness.
5. Monitor inventory and order supplies as needed.
6. Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure guest satisfaction.
7. Assist in budgeting and cost control to maximize profitability.
Required Skills and Experience:
1. Strong background in hospitality, particularly fine dining or Michelin standards.
2. Proven leadership and team management experience in a kitchen environment.
3. Excellent culinary skills and a passion for food innovation.
4. Knowledge of food safety standards.
5. Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask.
6. Effective communication skills.
7. Proactive problem-solving approach.
Hours of work are four 10-hour shifts per week, with some flexibility required.
Benefits and Additional Information:
Pay rate of £20.00 per hour, dependent on experience and qualifications.
