Overview
Electrical Maintenance Engineer role at Wienerberger UK & Ireland, based at the Sandown site in Aldridge, Walsall. Reporting to maintenance/engineering leadership, you will be part of the in-house team keeping plant equipment running through troubleshooting and planned preventive maintenance (PPM).
Responsibilities
* Install and maintain electrical and electro-mechanical plant equipment or machinery
* Operate a preventative electrical maintenance system
* Fault finding and repairs
* Program Siemens and other programmable logic controllers (PLCs)
* Use testing equipment to locate and remedy faults
* Promote Lean thinking
* Attend breakdowns and contribute to safe systems of work (SSOW) documentation
* Adhere to Wienerberger’s quality system & standards in accordance with BSEN ISO 9001
Hours and Working Pattern
The normal pattern is 4 on 4 off, over an 8-week rolling shift with earlies and lates averaging 38.125 hours per week. Earlies are typically 6:30am–6:30pm; lates are typically 11:00am–11:00pm. Weekend shifts are early starts with finish times no later than 7:00pm.
About You
You will be an electrically biased engineer with experience in a manufacturing/factory environment, with a minimum level 3 qualification in Electrical Engineering. Safety is a priority and you should have strong experience of health and safety best practice. You should enjoy a busy, hands-on environment and be flexible to adapt to daily priorities. The role can be physically demanding.

* Diagnostics experience with electrical motors and pneumatics
* Experience with PLCs
Desirable
* 17th/18th edition qualification (training possible)
* Hands-on apprenticeship completed
* HNC/HND or equivalent
* Experience in heavy industry manufacturing
