Role Overview
We’re seeking a motivated and strategic Business Development Consultant to lead and support our adviser recruitment efforts within the Benchmark network. You will play a critical role in growing our national footprint by identifying, engaging, and onboarding high-quality financial advisers and firms that align with our values and proposition.
Key Responsibilities
• Prospecting & Lead Generation
Proactively identify and engage financial planning firms and independent advisers who are considering a change in network, partnership, or business model.
• Relationship Management
Build long-term relationships with prospective advisers through a consultative approach. Represent Benchmark as a trusted partner in the market.
• Pipeline Development
Manage and nurture a robust pipeline of prospects using CRM tools, ensuring consistent follow-up and conversion tracking.
• Stakeholder Collaboration
Work closely with marketing, compliance, onboarding, and regional teams to ensure a seamless recruitment and integration process.
• Presenting the Benchmark Proposition
Articulate the value of joining the Benchmark network, including access to our proprietary technology, investment platform, compliance support, and business consultancy services.
• Market Intelligence
Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and adviser sentiment to continuously refine recruitment strategy and messaging.
• Event Attendance
Represent Benchmark at key industry events, conferences, and networking sessions to raise brand visibility and generate leads.
About You
• Proven track record in business development or recruitment within the financial advice or wealth management sector.
• Deep understanding of the UK financial advice landscape, especially around networks, consolidators, and directly authorised firms.
• Strong commercial acumen with excellent interpersonal and influencing skills.
• Self-starter who is target-driven and comfortable working autonomously.
• Able to credibly present to both individual advisers and firm principals.
• CRM-savvy, with good pipeline management and reporting discipline.
