About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join our team.
The successful candidate will have strong IT skills, including expertise in Power BI (Power Query and DAX) and Google GCP, with tools like Google BigQuery and Looker.
As a Data Engineer, you will support ETL processes and development, data analysis, and data hygiene enhancement, ensuring activities are value-driven and focused on performance improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Interpret and analyze data to provide actionable insights and reports for decision-makers.
2. Collaborate with colleagues to identify and implement process improvements.
3. Train colleagues to use and interpret operational systems and reports effectively.
4. Document all Data Team processes, activities, and projects comprehensively.
5. Analyze data to improve ETL processes, reduce technical debt, and enhance automation and data hygiene.
6. Support the Data Strategy Manager in developing a robust Data Warehouse and Framework for current and future business needs.
7. Evaluate the effectiveness of key programs and initiatives through data analysis.
8. Ensure reporting systems support contractual requirements and monitor improvement initiatives in collaboration with Operational Leaders.
9. Assist the Data Strategy Manager in client-facing calls requiring technical expertise.
10. Contribute to improving data strategy, data quality, and technical standards.
11. Produce timely reports and analyses as directed by your line manager.
The Ideal Candidate:
1. Proven ability to transform raw data into actionable reports and effectively analyze and present insights.
2. Strong IT skills, including expertise in Power BI (Power Query and DAX) and Google GCP (tools like Google BigQuery and Looker).
3. Skilled in simplifying data communication to support performance goals.
4. Knowledge of data-related laws and ability to identify exceptions or key focus areas through analysis.
