Come and join Our Growing, Dynamic Radiology Department
We are seeking Consultant Radiologists specialising in Cardiothoracic imaging to join our expanding team at Worthing and St Richards and Royal Sussex County Hospital.
This is a pan-UHSussex service, which operates across all Trust sites. Successful candidates must be prepared to travel and work across all sites within the Trust as required.
The role requires a thorough grounding in clinical radiology including ultrasound and cross sectional skills. The post holder will be required to perform subspecialist Cardiothoracic imaging and associated reports, also participate in MDM's as required.
An interest in paediatric imaging would be desirable as we enhance our children’s and young people’s imaging pathways.
Main duties of the job
The clinical duties of the post include the following:
1. General elective and acute (hot) reporting
2. Ultrasound - general
3. Subspecialty scanning and reporting
4. MDM
5. Participation in on-call service
6. Supervision of radiology trainees
Teaching and training are an integral part with rotating radiology trainees and speciality training.

Experience and Qualifications
Essential criteria
7. Basic Medical Degree
8. FRCR or appropriate specialist qualification
9. Full GMC Registration with a licence to practice
10. CCT in Radiology or equivalent (equivalence must be confirmed by GMC by date of AAC)
11. Entry onto the GMC Specialist Register or eligibility for entry within 6 months of the date of the AAC
Desirable criteria
12. Higher Degree
13. Distinctions, scholarships, prizes, other degress e.g. BSc, MSc, MS
Clinical Skills & Experience
Essential criteria
14. Broad experience of general acute diagnostic imaging (including trauma CT) and general outpatient imaging (including trauma CT) and general outpatient imaging
15. Dedicated Cardiothoracic radiology training
16. Experience of sub-speciality chest reporting including HRCT
17. Evidence performing and reporting Cardiac CT
18. Experience performing and reporting Cardiac MRI
19. Experience in leading multidisciplinary discussions
Desirable criteria
20. Evidence of lung biopsy experience
21. Experience of diagnostic neck US
22. Experience of US guided IR procedures including drain insertion and biopsies
