Overview
We are looking for a passionate and motivated Occupational Therapist to join our Rapid Emergency Assessment and Care Team (REACT), an integral component of UHCW's Emergency Medicine Group. REACT works within Emergency Medicine’s Assessment Areas and Short Stay wards to avoid hospital admissions while delivering high standards of care and discharge planning.
Key Responsibilities
1. Manage a caseload of patients with a varied range of conditions and complex needs, using evidence‑based, client‑centred practice to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions.
2. Identify and utilise appropriate discharge pathways and services to promote a ‘home first’ approach and support patient flow.
3. Serve as the lead therapist across clinical areas within the Emergency and Acute Medicine footprint, providing day‑to‑day support to the wider team.
4. Support the learning and development of junior staff and students.
5. Participate in the planning, development and evaluation of the REACT service, including taking responsibility for defined projects.
6. Work within a 7‑day model, including extended hours and weekend shifts.
Working Hours & Shift Patterns
The service operates 7 days a week with extended hours, offering a variety of shift patterns including long days and weekend work.
Service Development
The drive towards integrated care models will create opportunities to be involved in service development initiatives.
Benefits & Development
We offer regular supervisions, a team in‑service training programme and other professional development opportunities, alongside a supportive team culture that values well‑being.
Equality, Diversity & Inclusion
We are committed to building an organisation that fully utilises the talents, skills, experience and perspectives of our diverse society. Everyone should feel respected, valued, able to achieve their potential and receive the most appropriate and relevant care. We promote a culture where equality, human rights, fairness, respect, dignity and autonomy are integral to our core values.
